Natalie Morgan Eats The World......

Hey everyone!

So I have come to the end of my first week of travelling (my first two stops of the trip being Washington DC and New York) and I have all ready experienced so much culture, saw so many wonderful sites and pretty much ate the cities out of food. Seriously, I may as well of went to each individual Washington DC and New York citizens house and ate their fridge. This post will be all about the meals I have had and sites I have seen this far and how I have tried to work off all the junk!

After spending our first night in New York we travelled to Washington DC by bus (4.5 hour trip and the toilet wasn't working, absolute nightmare, people pissing in bottles and everything, yeah seriously). We stayed with a lovely family in West Virginia and commuted from their to the capital. The weather was pretty poor but it didn't stop us seeing all the monuments and museums (air and space was amazing!) and I even found out that big Abe Lincoln also loves a squat, what a lad....

I am aware I look like a drowned rat, that is because I was.

Seeing all the monuments and history was incredible and I had to pinch myself a few times and punch Sam in the eye (sorry about that) to make sure I was actually not dreaming. Looking out on to the water at the memorial statue is definitely one to add to the bucket list!
Washington, DC

Okay, so now for the best bit. The food. On our first night we were taken out for a traditional Korean feast and it was absolutely fantastic. We had fresh rib eye meat that was cooked right in front of us on our very own personal grill and numerous sides of fruits and vegetables all downed with barley tea.....

The following night I had the most buzzard dinning experience of my life. We went in to the state of Maryland which is famous for its blue crabs so we were treated to yet another meal, the ultimate crab feast. Being taught how to open the crabs and eat them was like a workout in itself. They were so so unbelievably tasty, and I even made a friend with one. His name is Bob and he is the third one to the right in the picture...

For our last meal in DC we were taken to Teds Bullentine Diner located on 1818 t14th Street in Maryland. It is a modernised version of a classic 30s diner. It does dishes from peanut butter and bacon burgers, pancake stacks with hash browns and....wait for it...homemade pop tarts! Yeah, homemade and they weren't even burnt like they usually go when you put them in the toaster at home. The diner is also known for its famous grilled cheese and tomato soup and this was my meal of choice and it did not disappoint. It definitely topped a tin if Heinz and it really was the best grilled cheese I have ever had, perfect for heating you up when the weather isn't so great......

New York

As I have been to New York before and have seen most of the tourist attractions, we spent our time just walking about the city, taking in the sites and practicing our New Jersey accents, ('HEY I'M WALKINH HEA!') The fact that we had already experienced the main attractions meant that there was more time to eat which made me one happy lassie! Our first stop was for sushi, my absolute favourite! I love sushi,  like if somebody proposed to me by placing a California hand roll on my finger I would say yes in a heart beat, heck I would wear sushi rolls on my fingers like hula hoops everyday if I could (if you don't put hula hoops on your fingers and eat them off you are a boring bugger). We were taken to an amazing sushi joint in NY. The restaurant was called 15th East and it is owned by one of our campers parents. It was AMAZING! Expensive but the quality of the fish was excellent, if you are wanting to splash out on something special I would definitely recommend it!  The restaurant can be found on 15 East 15 street, New York, 10003

After our healthy-ish sushi lunch we then went to Max Brenners, a restaurant that specialises in chocolate. Yes you read that right, chocolate! The even do chocolate syringes!

Yeah, I know. I contemplated passing out just so they could use one to help me come around.

Three of us shared a seasonal chocolate fondue and I also had a salted caramel hot chocolate, I mean if your going to eat chocolate you need to go all out and we walked a lot, so yeah, it didn't even count anyway so it was fine...

Max Brenners is located on  841 Broadway, New York, NY 10003, a must for all chocoholics!

And after all that I had the bloody cheek to get a healthy juice, at least I had health in mind? At some point? I think it was after I caught myself with a chocolate moustache in the mirror...

Working Off Eating The World....

So yeah I forgot this is a health and fitness blog so I should probably talk about that and how I over came my mammoth food babies. I have gotten up earlier each morning to fit in a workout, I haven't been doing much as I know I will be working out all summer at camp so I have just dedicated 30 minutes of intense work each day. On Tuesday I did my burpee challenge workout which I have posted  on my Facebook and Instagram account (Globesquatter Health & Fitness, @globesquatterblog) and on Wednesday I roped in my friend Sam for a high impact cardio workout, the VIDEO (first of many globesquatter videos wooop) can also be found on my Facebook and Instagram page. On Friday I did this killer cardio ab workout to help me rid myself of my grilled cheese off spring...

We also went a run around Brooklyn this morning and did some tabata workouts in Prospect Park, a great way to stay fit and see the area. Videos can also be found on my Instagram account!

Give my cardio ab workout a try then go make your own chocolate fondue and grilled cheese sarnie!

Until next time folks!
